The Need
The expansion of the Sapirim Industrial Area, located between the city of Sderot and the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council, follows Government Decision No. 2664 and aims to support regional economic growth.
The Vision
The industrial zone is envisioned as a sustainable industrial park, integrating harmoniously with its surrounding natural landscape.
The plan borders protected natural areas and a sensitive hydrological zone. Its guidelines reflect careful landscape and ecological planning, emphasizing respect for the natural systems of the nearby Nahal Shikma Nature Reserve.
The Design
The plan proposes a variety of new industrial lots of different sizes, areas designated for storage and logistics, engineering infrastructure, public parking, commercial uses, public buildings and institutions, and office spaces to serve the park’s needs.
The expansion is situated to the east, adjacent to the existing industrial park, and is designed as a natural extension of it. To the west, it borders forested lands as defined by Israel’s National Outline Plan 1 (TAMA 1).
