Nahariya Police Station
2,500 sq. m.
The project comprises of an extension and a modification of the old Nahariya police station, designed as a new wing which is connected to the existing building that was renovated without performing any significant structural transformations.
Situating the new wing of the building in front of the old one, facing the street, creates a new image of the police station complex towards the main street and road junction thus creating a gap between the residential area nearby and the station, allowing the neighborhood`s residents to keep their quiet surroundings and way of life.
The new wing clearly divides the station plot as a whole into two parts: a public section and an operational one, with two separate entrances, while the public entrance, which is located between the two, makes it easier to distinguish between them.
Both the new wing and the old one are clad with stone in order to create a unified image.
The new wing faces the south and the west, thus creating a pleasant indoor climate, while the windows are facing the open outdoor spaces and scenery.
The building comprises of 3 floors separated by the amount of public to be served, in a way that the less public related floors are going to be the higher ones.
